Why would you want vtec to "kick in harder"? Why not be happy with a good running engine?

Are you wanting the V-Tec to kick in sooner? If so buy a V-Tec controller or go Hondata and you can controll you whole vehicle.

Do you mean "how do I get VTEC to not work properly"?

VTEC is supposed to be a smooth transition that just pulls harder.
People who have their crossover point set too high experience a "kick" into VTEC.

I know what the transition to vtec feels like i just was wondering how to make it feel stroger, i have ridden in a ITR that has a Good hard oush to it when vtec hits, i would just like the vtec to be stronger

different motor, thats why.. higher vtec engagement point because of the larger lobes.

Probably still shouldnt hit harder if its tuned correctly.. If you engauge the vtec at the point where each lobes powerbands meet then your not really going to feel much of anything.. It will change in sound alot..

If you have a vafc and bump the vtec engagement up to like 6500 or 7000 it kicks a lot harder.

Ok set the Vtec For 6000rpm+ but the low end pull will be ****, well, I have a VAFC already and my Crossover is set @ 5700 and i just wanted to have a little bit more pull, its not like my car goes to 10.5, so if i put my vtec for 6000+ there is only about 1600 rpm of vtec its a waste...ill just make surei have oil full and tune-up, then ill swap in either CTR or Skunk2 cams

raise your VTEC switchover to 7500rpms. it'll "hit harder, yO!"

actually, i thought the rsx was dissappointing in that respect, when i took one into vtec, it was too smooth and subtle for me, but when i had my b16, the vtec change over was much more 25-shot-nitrous-like.

the base rsx is very mild, were you in a base or type s?

i was in a a type S, it was strong but not a kick. just a smooth transition, its like the cam changes its profile continuously

well if tuned properly the change over should be very smooth (not jerky)although the tone will change dramatically.. and it should pull a lot harder once it crosses over as well. i dont know about a "kick" or a jolt? maybe you mean you want more power once vtec comes in? then you need to shop around for some aftermarket camshafts or some ctrs /itrs..

add some nos to make it spray at the same time the vtec kicks in so that you'll have that so desired harder engagement.

importbuilders have a nice standalone tuning faq that puts a little emphasis on making vtec noticable, check that.
