CP will soon offer pistons for your h23a's
CP will be introducing pistons for the h23a motor in a few weeks. Shelf pistons will be stock bore (87mm) and a 9.0:1 compression ratio. As you guys know I have been building quite a few H series motors recently, so if you need CP pistons for your h23's just let me know. I am going to supply them with the head cc's and I'm going to try to get the piston to deck clearance if I get a chance.
There will also be another product available very soon, so all you turbo H23a guys will be VERY happy to see this on the market

I was just down there last week, sat down and talked with Snake, Dave and Darius... one of the things we discussed were the differences between the H22 and H23 pistons... We also covered details about the actual deck height of the H22... 8.643 not 8.655
Darius had a basic idea of the differences but I figured Id lend any info I could, reguardless if its something they knew already or not

On my 1993 H23A1 block I have in my garage I got about .012" piston to deck clearance if it helps at all.
