Default K series in lude????

I was talking with a friend and he said that back home people are starting to do K series swaps on just about anything. He is not a very trustworthy source for anything. He said that i ought to do a K series swap but i like my H22a. But anyway, what is the possability of swapping to a k series in a prelude and what would be the pros and cons. Not that i want to...i just want to know.

if you're into 1 forward gear and 6 reverse gears i say go nuts! haha

the K would mount backwards in the lude if i'm not mistaken.

no, you would have to use the k series' transmission, so it wouldn't mount backwards.

it would mount backwards compared to a f/h but it would mount correctly, unless u used a non-k series tranny it would be the normal 6 forward/1 reverse gear

as for pro/cons, k24 block w/ k20 head + bolt ons and ecu reflash u are looking at 260ish whp, not to mention the lack of frm sleeves....cons are its hella expensive, need custom mounts, dont know of anyone who has done it on a lude and wiring would be a bitch....

Don't do it. It is a waste of your money.

how is it a waste of money, k series is a hell of a lot lighter, responds 14 times better to bolt ons, and the swap is already being done, so there is access to info on how to do it. that statement shows a lack of knowledge

Stop with these stupid threads already.

The K series is a GREAT motor. If you have a few thousand to spend on custom fabrication and labor for the swap, go for it. You'll be cool for the first 6 months then you'll be among the dime a dozen prelude's after a company like Hasport offers a full conversion kit for the swap.
