How easy is it to remove the back seat out of the 1990 EF Hatchback? How do you do it?

 

It depends on if you want to keep/sell it.

If you don't, get a socket wrench, and pliers, and pull. It'll take about 15min. Just yank on it.

 

Where are the bolts at that I need to take out? What If I want to keep it?

 

If you want to keep it, just be careful, and try not to break the clips holding the seat on, or together. I did this about a year ago, and I can't remember where the locations are. Just start with the bottom (butt part) and work your way around slowly. It's actually pretty self-explanatory.

 

TOOLS REQUIRED:

= 10mm Socket/wrench

= Pliers

Using the pliers, remove the plastic spacing clips on each side of the seat-back pivots (1 on each side).

Once these spacers are removed, you can slide the seat-backs from side to side. Push the drivers-side seat-back towards the passenger side, and the outer pivot should come loose from the hole.

Do the same thing to the other side and remove both seat-backs with hatch carpeting attached.

To remove the bottom seat cushion, there is one 10mm bolt to the rear of the seat (where the seat-backs used to be). Once this bolt is removed, the entire bottom cushion can be flipped up towards the front of the car. The front edge of the seat-cushion is held in place by metal tabs, and can be easily lifted out at this point.
