i just did a single cam swap into a 90 hatchback dx converted to mpfi, the car used to have a b16, then it blew, and now im getting paid to put a single cam si in it. i put it in, its throwing code 09, which from researching is cyp sensor? i was also told to solve this i have to change the distributor, which i did with a brand new distributor and it still threw the code.... could it be because i am running an ls ecu to get the tuning done until i can get a single cam si ecu? pplease help

 

code 9 would indicate problem with Cylinder Position Sensor in the distributor, problem with wiring from ECU to distributor or camshaft timing incorrect - make sure that timing belt is on right and that the wires added when doing the DPFI to MPFI wiring changes are in the correct locations and secure - the LS ECU will work with that engine - wouldn't cause code 9
