Okay this, I'm sure of it, has been brought up probably many times. I tried to search but have been unsuccessful on what i need help with.
I have a complete front clip (motor, no body parts) from a 90 Integra LS. I have a 91 CRX SI. My question is how does it drop in? I also have a 88 CRX dx (b16a2) that is my project car so I know how to do the wiring for the vtec/obd1 but my question is with a non-vtec and pre-obd.
This is my daily driver nothing special just a stock ls in my crx. Not luckig for anything special just to drop it in and drive around.
I need either a site or some answers thanks.
Could you either give me a site or let me know right here, when you answer the question can you put a number by it so I know which one your talking about.
1. Is wiring needed?
*I've heard I had to extend wires, if so which ones?
2. What mounts needed to be used?
3. Is hood clearance an issue?
4. Will the axles work from the ls?
5. Which is ECU to run? Will it just plug in or is modification needed?
6. Is overheating an issue?
7. Which radiator hoses?
8. Which intake manifold?
9. Will all the plugs just plug and play or do I need to switch any? (also goes with question number 1)
And for my 88 CRX DX I will be putting the 90 Integra brakes on all 4 corners and I have some questions about that:
For the front.
1. Will the brakes just bolt in place?
2. Will camber/caster/toe be affected?
3. Are certain brake lines needed?
For the rear.
1. Pretty much the same questions... Will they drop in place?
2. Is all I need to do is remove the rear trailing arm and switch around?
3. Or are lower LCA's, compensator, toe, UCA's do any of these need to be switched?
5. Are certain brake lines needed?
6. Will the Integra e-brake cables work or will I need CRX SI??
Thanks. Again if you have a site I can check out with the answer could you live a direct link not a a link to the main page. Example of what not to do:

I have pretty much the same question. I have a 91 hatchback DX ( still dpfi), Dropping in a B18a. Any good websites that will help out with this swap?
You should send me money for reading your entire post
that ish was long
Motor - i dont' know alot about that motor
4. the axles will work, if you have 90-93 teg hubs.
6. overheating won't be an issue.
7. 90-93 teg. Yoy might have to modify the ends a little. b-series radiator hoses are bigger than d-series. It will be a loose fit on the d-series radiator. It's nothing a big hose clamp can't fix.
front brakes
1. Yes and no. The brakes bolt into place after you install 90-93 teg, 91 civic ex, and SiR knuckles.
2. another yes/no. Use the existing upper arms and you 'll be fine. Caster won't be an issue.
don't worry about toe because you're gonna get an alignment right?
3. Your brake lines or the teg ones will work.
rear brakes.
1. yes if you use existing compensator arms.
2. yes ,see #1
3. see #1
5. you're gonna need teg lines.
6. I heard teg e-brake cables are supposedly too long for crx. If you had a hatch the e-brake cables would fit perfectly. Can't help you there

Hey thanks. So I'm assumming the answer to the questions for the b18a swap mean that it will just drop in??
(if you understood that).
(if you understood that).
I know to do the swap, you will need a mount kit, shiftlinkage, and the axels from th 88-89 integra for everything to line up right. Other than that, I have not clue what else. Just looking for some useful websites

so your saying the axle won't fit? from a 90 integra?
the axles will plug right into the SI hubs on the crx. you will need a b series mount kit however. im sure you are familiar with this since you have a b16 in your other crx.

Hey thanks bro. So what I got from that is that in the Si it (b18a) will just drop right in no wiring needs to be modified. Also the ecu should just plug in?
I was aware of mounts, linkage but wasn't sure mainly about wiring and axles. I have 90 Axles (integra) is this okay?

Go to http://www.hybrid-honda-perf.org On that site they say that you will need mount kit, shift linkage, and 88-89 integra axels for proper installation. You will also have to change some wiring at the ecu. From what I read, the ecu will plug right in, but some of the pins have to be changed
How do you do a b16a2 swap into an 88 dx and not know how to do a 90-91 b18a1 swap into a 91 si? The wiring is plug and play use your Si harness. Any B series mount kit for a CRX/EF Civic will due along with an aftermarket shift linkage or cut/weld the teg linkage to size its too big stock. Axles from 90-91 teg will work if you use the Si knuckles be sure to remove the dust covers just to make sure you get no binding. Use 90-91 Teg rad hoses they'll work as long as you use those adjustable clamps.
