OHHH....help needed
yeahhh, im extremly new to this..i had a 1990 mustang gt....and messed it up good, now im kidna wanting to go for a lil 1990 civic type deal, i rode in a friends and really liked how it felt and all.......my long term goal is to have a quick lil vehicle.......how do i get started??and what all do i need to buy to get started.....
How "quick" are you talking?
How much money do you want to dump into to this project?
There's a lot of options so it really depends what you want to do and what your wallet will allow.

i want 2 door, rear seats would be nice.....and ive got about a couple of grand just to dump into it all at once but have a reliable job that will slowly get me where i need to go,
before you buy anything. You probably should do as much research on Honda's as you can. Alot of uneducated people think Hondas are weak and why put all this money into a 4 banger. These people usually end up seeing taillamps at the strip or track all day long that belong to 4 banger Hondas and wonder why.
yes latly ive been doin more research than usual and have found information on hondas and the vtec engines and what not.......so when starting off basically do i just need to buy any old civic?

Yes.
But then you still need to figure out what you want in it.
The more options the heavier the car.
If you are going for raw drag strip speed, you will want the lightest which also happens to be pretty cheap and has no options.
If you are just looking for a quick street car and not some speed demon car, then get a nice Si trim so you have A/C and all that stuff that makes it a more comfortable daily driver.
THEN you can decide how fast you really need to go, what kind of handling improvements you want, etc...

oh ok this has helped, i want comfort, and i also want some crazy speed, so just to start out...just look for a any old civic that looks decent and has all the basic stuff then i start in on the motor and what not?
You're not going to want to keep that stock D15 in there.. trust me. Depending how much money you have, there are many options as far as engine swaps go, do you want to go NA or Boost? (NA is Best
)
)
do what I did.. find a nice 90-91 civic hatch si from an old lady or someone thats taken real good care of it.. get some decent suspension, then get yourself a b16, its easy to put in and with the si the wiring is a snap. Then down the road get some cams and maybe some headwork.. It will be a quick little car, plus you got a sunroof, thats just plain sick

Yeah - find the vehicle that has the options you want first.
After you have the car you can build it to fit your need for speed.
It would be a wise idea to do improve the braking capabilities and the handling before messing with the speed, but that's up to you.
There are many options for engines out there. Getting some sort of swap, whether it's be a SOHC or DOHC, is probably in your future. There's seems to be an endless supply of upgrades so you can start off mild and go pretty damn wild over time.
