5 is pretty low.. I was reading 10-15 on mines a friend said that was normal but then again it was on a cheap obx gauge.. make sure ur lines aren't kinked .

If you arent idleing at about 20mm of mercury(mmhg), something is a little wrong. Either your gauge reads wrong or you have a leak somewhere. Ultimately you should always idle about 18-22mmhg.

Most all of the cars that come into the shop are idleing around 20mmhg. If not we normally find a leak somewhere, although there have been a small amount that have been lower, closer to 18.

checked the vacuum line behind the gauge pillar and it was kinked so now its around 15-20

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by pkoury &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Most all of the cars that come into the shop are idleing around 20mmhg. Actually it's 18-20 in Hg...not mm.

Like everyone said, check for leaks, and if your idle is fine, it's probably the gauge, the line to the gauge, or the location you tapped for the line for the gauge.
