2001 accord ex v6 automatic hesitation
We just recently purchased a honda certified used 2001 accord ex v6. It has 80K miles on it. Only a few minor issues. The biggest one is a hesitation problem when on the freeway. We do not stomp on the gas. So we do not know what happens during WOT. The eudw service manager at our local honda dealer explained it away as the computer processing or thinking about what to do. OF course I think that horsepoop.
I have driven a 2000 G30 over 700 miles in 1 day down I-5 in CA. Also driven a 2001 sebring convertable over 700 miles down I-5. Neither vehicle ever had this hesitation problem. I would hate to think a honda accord computer is so lame. Basically this is not the only modern or old car I have driven for a decent amount of time, and none of the other cars had any hesitation problem, or course, all the others where mostly new with less than 20K miles on them.
Just wondering what other possibilities exist for this issue. The powertrain is under warranty till 100K miles, bumber to bumber till 91K miles.
Side note, service manager said the hesitation is not covered under warranty (car has 84K miles on it now).

sorry it takes me so long to reply.
the hesitation seems to happen at any rpm. however rpms are mostly between 2K and 3K. When tend to only use slight acceleration, and the auto seems to shift up a little past 3K.
its very annoying and not under the bumper to bumper or powertrain warranty according to the service manager person at the "best" honda dealer in the north bay (northern california).
I did try some WOT the other day. I felt it hesitate as soon as I floored it, then it went away.

IF THE CAR YOU BOUGHT IS A REBUILT TITLE
THEN THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR MAY BE DAMAGED. THIS HAPPENED TO A 2001 V6 HONDA ACCORD I REBUILT. THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR DOESN'T ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO CHANGE. AND YOUR RPM'S WHILE RISE UNTIL THE CAR FINALLY GIVES AND GOES TO SECOND. THERE IS A SENSOR ON THE TRANMISSION THAT CAUSES THIS. ONCE REPLACED IT SHOULD WORK FINE.
