Default OT: I May be Moving to Denver/Boulder

I have been made a job offer that may be far too good to pass up. I may be relocating to the Denver/Boulder area and thought I'd ask if anybody from that area could answer some questions..

Is there emissions testing? Don't have that in Texas and I'm not stock...
Are there some good local road tracks for HPDE?
Are there good performance shops and tuners in the area I can trust?

What else do I need to know as an owner of a ITR in Denver/Boulder (other than don't get it stolen)?

Denver is a nice city. You can actually walk around downtown at night and not have to worry about getting mugged.

Denver definitely has emission laws... their smog is no joke. Smog gets trapped in the city as it's shielded by the rockies. I'm sure the locals will chime in soon though.

The Denver/Boulder area has great weather in the summer months that I have visited. Their highways suck because of all the construction that is going on though.

My cousin has an ITR in the area and he doesn't worry about it too much other than the normal precautions of an ITR owner.

I've visited some good friends there several times, and really liked the Boulder area simply for its laid-back style.

Don't have any input on input on shops and the like though.
Good luck with everything.

You definitely have to get an emissions test before you can register your car in CO - at least in the metro area. If you can register it in the mountains somewhere, you might be able to avoid the test.

Second Creek Raceway is pretty fun. Track time can be had for as little as like $60/half day.

If its your daily driver, install quality snow tires - I loved my Bridgestone LM22s last winter - by Halloween and keep them on until mid May.

Otherwise, enjoy

I'm from Colorado. Unfortunately I don't do much road racing, but I heard Second Creek Raceway that is alot of fun. There are alot of SCCA events during the summer as well. Ofcourse there is Bandimere for drag racing.

The weather is great, we have more sunny days then almost anywhere in the states. The people are generally pleasant too. Theft is probably on par with most metropolitan cities I assume. But normal precausions tend to work.
Let me know if you want any more info.

Good luck becoming a Bronco's fan.

My boss lived in CO for a while, but after coming to CA, she said she'll never go back.
