How much paint required to paint engine bay? Will a pint of each do?
Looking at around $125 for a pint of primer, clear, and base.
Will a pint of each be enough? Keep in mind all I'm doing is the engine bay.
I didn't realize paint was so expensive! I surely can't afford a quart of each

Why not just use single stage? Much cheaper and easier, its only the engine bay. I did mine in omni (ppg's cheaper brand) single stage which was around $25 for the paint and hardener.

With that said I imagine a pint would be sufficient. I used a 3/4 of a quart to do my engine bay, underside of the hood and the backend of my crx that is covered by the bumper and lights.

Reason I want to use the basecoat/clearcoat system is because I want it to match the rest of the car. I don't like the way a black engine bay looks so that's out of the question.
I just really want it to match the emerald green I have picked out for the other car. I think I'll be disappointed later down the road if I don't go with the color I really want.

Is that a one stage as well? Or is that rattlecan?
