Stumped. 1100 RPM idle still, just plain stumped
Sohc Zc non vtec, 88 Crx Si
Idles at 1100rpm fully warmed with the idle screw all the way backed out. Its not even a quiet idle, its sounds to me like it loud and ticky and vibrates. Ran fine in my first crx, sat for 2 months, swapped, runs ****
IACV and TPS sensors are perfect, like I said idle screw is all the wya backed out and 1100 is the lowest I can get it.
Any help appreicated, pissing me off that the car kinda vibrates and the engine is loud ****
THanks

dont you have to tighten it clockwise to lower the idle? not back it out. If you checked that already, then you should also check your iacv valve. take it off the throttle body and spray some carb cleaner in it and let it soak for 10 minutes. If its not that then you might have a vacuum leak.
does the zc have a fitv? if it doesn't that could of become loose as well., I had to tighten mine in my d15b vtec, to get my idle back to a normal range.
check vaccuum lines to throttle body. my b18a was doing the same thing, turned out i just had one of the vacuum lines routed wrong.... just a thought
Im pretty sure all vaccum was routed fine and there are no leaks, throttle body is clean.
Im just stumped
I have no idea why it would just be ***** loud and vibrating

What does it idle at when you unplug the IAC valve?

do you have a vafc to verify your rpms?
my tach shows that i idle at 1100, my vafc shows 790-800 rpm's
The stock tach is very inaccurate.

Alrgith Ill have to do that when I get home, my brother cant figure out where it is.
With this disconnected will the car run? If it fixes the idle can I run without it?

Disconnecting the IACV is actually the right way to adjust your idle.
Un-plug it then set your idle to about 500 rpms, reconnect it and it should goto ~750rpms.

"Idles at 1100rpm fully warmed with the idle screw all the way backed out"
isnt it the other way around.
screw all the way in, to lower idle speed!

you can also try looking into the throttlebody, where the butterfly valve is, there are 2 holes right before the valve, one hole that goes to iacv and another (fill in the blank cause i dont remember). If you cover both holes while idling and the car doesnt die, then you have a vacuum leak for sure. and if you have a vaccum leak, make sure your intake mani is torqued down correctly on the block
Just got off work, thats right 2am. 7am-2am (19hours) What an amazing way to start the week lol
88crxSi - your IACV pic isnt working and I cannot get it to.
Im gonna try all these things tomorrow and if it dont work, Ill shell out $300 and send her to Honda but I really want to do it maself
