What Does this do ?
I was installing my JDM headlight so I had to take off my bumper, when I noticed this useless grill that does nothing, I took it out and there's nothing behind. it's just a grill.
now I know that Honda didn't put it there in hopes that someone would asked about it 12 years later on Honda-tech.
so what does it do ? should I remove it ? it weighs next to nothing, but everything helps.

another picture so you know what I'm talking about

sorry for the fuzzy pictures, I just I don't have a resizing program, so I had to use paint to do it.

leave that thing there, its a bumper support to reduce the hit of a accident or whatever, dont take it out, i mean if you get hit and you have that it'll help a little some support thats just suppose to be there
nah man take that off.. weight reduction..
jk but foreal leave it on u might regrett u didnt have it if u got in an accident. that could save u from serious damage.

lol... you think that little thing is gonna save you from serious damage... it's just meant to help brace the bumper, would'nt do anything if hit over 5mph

atleast its better than nothing to have it there, help reduce something a little bit, even if you didnt even have it on and hit something under 5mph i think it would crack the bumper or dent the frame already

yea leave it in. dont pull out. let it stay there where it's supposed to be no matter what.

It's just a bumper support. It doesn't help for wrecks.
Just for reference, there is one on both sides (I'm assuming you didn't see the other since your bumper is still attached on the driver's side). I took mine off a long time ago. Doesn't hurt anything...and your bumper is not going to fall off with out them.
Hope this helps.

that thing is there for a reason, and that reason is not for you to take it out. the porpose of that is it is a crush section that they put there just incase u get cliped from the side(both), it makes the damage less severe. its similar to the honeycomb design some cars have in their crush zones.
you're all wrong. it's all part of a japaneese terror attack on the us. they figured they'd sell millions of civics, then the japaneese are going to hijack all the civics and load those jokers with little missles.

id say take it out, i dont know what that piece of plastic is going to do for you in an accident. It looks like an air channel or something, i wouldnt worry about it.
