AEM V2 for 5g
and no its not worth the extra pennies. might as well get an ebay brand CAI pipe and buy a nice k&n filter to go with it. or if you like brand names get the AEM or Injen CAIs used for cheap
and you should REALLY search next time

nobody really has it here because nobody here feels it is worth the $250 or whatever for the extra 1hp it MAY create, either u buy it and tell us, or build one by sticking a filter on a 4 inch pipe, and then connect the 4 inch pipe to a 3 inch pipe, and then stick that 3 inch pipe onto ur TB

My friend had the aem v2 for his 5th gen but sold it me (4th gen) for cheap. I went from a generic ebay short ram to the aem v2. Based on the butt dyno, i cant really feel a difference. It is hot and humid out here, so maybe thats affecting it.

i have the v2 only because i had way too much money from my paycheck and it was my first mod.
..but honestly, other than looks...not much different then other ones..its a little louder than the normal aem cai tho.

I bought it...
I like the sound. Sounds good along with my S2 Catback. No dyno numbers yet, but I was thinking about a VAFC-II before I get some tuning time.
I haven't heard a V1 CAI on a 5th gen, so I can't compare it...but I like the look and the sound...

Is the V2 long like the original CAI or is it short like the Short Ram? I've never seen one. Only the piks on the AEM site but they're not on a car so I have no idea.
I'm guessing it is like the Short Ram.
The filter is to the left of the battery, where the the top of the stock box was.
I'm guessing the first version of the AEM CAI went through the hole and picked up inside the front bumper.
BTW - if you get the V2...keep the rubber grommet between the upper and lower intake box. You can cut out a piece of plastic and put it in the grommet to keep the water out when it rains.
