People who had to paint front bumper.....
i got in a fender bender and need to replace the front bumper and have it painted. the shop told me they would get the color to match as close as possible, but b/c the original paint throughout the car is 4 years old, there will be a discrepancy with the newer, shinier front bumper.
if anyone here has had this experience, especially on there black ITR....
can you tell me if i should really notice a big difference. will it stick out that much?
btw, this is a very high end shop that deals with high end cars.
tia!

it will be noticeable unless you wax your car often. even with high end painter's, you will see the difference on a 4 yr old car. you won't be able to tell from distance but up close, more than likely
if they didn't use a chroma-scanner to match the paint, then take it to a different shop.. the chroma-scanner, combined with them feathering the paint out some(and a good polish and wax), should make the difference far far far less noticeable..

only if you are looking at it up close though.

Good shops will be able to adjust the paint color and match it to the car. I had the front and rear bumpers done and for the first time they actually match the rest of the car. It seems all the PY ITRs had mismatchd bumpers from the factory.
IF the shop says they can't match the color, I'd be inclined to look elsewhere.

If its CW or PY then i would expect to notice a larger difference then if its NHB or FBP! I have seen white cars with repainted fenders, bumpers etc....and white is always really hard to match b/c of the sun-fading the color!

Well said. I have a reliable paint shop here in Phoenix and they do this everytime I have been there.
If you car about how your car looks then take the time and money to have paint repairs done right
