Default Fix my Stern Aguzze's!!

Let me be the first to say that I am extremely ashamed at myself for letting this happen to my rim but I am a real broke college student and I did not know this was going to happen. Ok this is what happened. I wore my brakes down so far that they started to spray rust all over the rim and side of my car. I managed to get it off the car but I can't get it off the rim. So, I obviously have to strip the rim to the bare metal. Will the aircraft remover take the rust off with it? Also what would be the best way to get the nasty curb rash off the rims? I can't afford to have these professionally fixed so any input would help!!

if the rust is on the wheel's clear coat, i guess aircraft carrier remover will remove it. i would give it a shot anyway and then paint them a color or clear coat them. and whenever you get some money, get them refinished professionally.

good luck.
sucks you let those sterns get like that.

what kind of chemicals have you tried? WD40 works well, and then afterwards rinse them and put some wheel cleaner.. you could try "lime away" too, but you gotta be really carefull with that ****.. if the rust is only on the surface.. the lime away stuff will work.

good luck..

Thanks for the info on the CLR i'll try that. And for the curbing keg party till 4 am + parallel parking at my dorm = OUCH

What about the curb scratches? Would it be better to just wait and let someone that knows what they are doing fix them?
