Default Friendly ITR turning onto Van Dorn street in Alexandria, VA?

Hey, saw a guy driving a stock-looking beautiful CW ITR about an hour ago turing off eisenhauer ave. onto Van Dorn, with a female riding shotgun...i was in the black R with the sweet-*** steel wheels, was nice to exchange a friendly wave whoever you were. 10 mins later on 395 i had a black prelude with a bodykit and various VTEC and TYPE R stickers try to streetrace me, he matched speed, i looked over to see him and his passenger glaring at me, as he downshifted oh-so-impressively to 4th gear and unremarkably pulled ahead (i was following my dad at the time, not that i'd have raced him anyway)....what a jerk. Made me appreciate how friendly the vast majority of R owners are (especially to other R owners...well, maybe exclusively to other R owners ) Anyway, beautiful car, i almost forgot that CW wheels can look pristine (D had me thinking otherwise )

I always try to be friendly when random people wave at me, i know i was the one waving when i had my GS-R. Never refuse a compliment, they say But if you're in a "ricebowl" as you amusingly put it, and you try to race me after glaring at me, i'm gonna laugh at you for sucking

I'm in town for thanksgiving, and for some office stuff, and to help my mom recover after some surgery (she's fine)...going back to da burgh tomorrow. Sometime i gotta make it here for one of those VA meets.

Aleph -- give me a call for lunch or something, if you've got some time in the next couple days.

My R's still not fixed, and I'm going into VTEC withdrawll!

....yeah i laugh at the blue light/altezza crew too...i mean my car is black, stock wheels with ITR front lip, smoked corners, OEM sideskirts, a 98+ rear bumper and 98+ taillights, a Benen lower tie bar and Apex'i WS exhaust with the muffler painted flat black...so its not something that looks all riced out to laugh at, i just find most other honda owners to be unfriendly to one another....like its some sort of competition or something...i give props to anyone on the road with a nice car...and honda kids seem to be the only ones that are generally complete asses about it...i try not to be...i know in the grand scheme of the auto world, my 4 banger honda aint ****.

Yeah, most typeR owners are very friendly. I just met this guy on the freeway. We pulled over to a gas station and just chatted about the R's. The cool thing about R owners are that they know that my car is an R even though it's a black one w/ no decal, no wing, no ITR rims.

And, most ricey Honda owners are dicks. (what a surprised!) They pull up, stare and/or rev, even though I'm just minding my own business.

Where are you at in VA? Which way do you go home? If you come through WV you should stop off in Charleston and take me for a ride in the R. I promise I won't pull up beside you in my Prelude and glare

Duh, I just read the title again, Alexandria. Oh well, if you decide to take some crazy route on the way home stop and say hi.

heh, sorry, the stealth nature of my R requires that i enter the DC area in "silent running", to wreak the maximum amount of havoc in the minimum time before detection. Someday, perhaps even soon, i will remember to give a headsup so we can all get together Just got back to the burgh, nice moist drive up...foggy, rainy, icky. I should be back around Xmas time, maybe we can work something then!

Hey Junglist,

Is Brian "K.K." serious about a JDM conversion or is he just tuggin on my leg?

and yeah I have to agree with ya.

I was just cruising through my local neighboring town yesterday, and caught the eye of a younger guy in his CW/R. I haven't seen it around much but, this kid tooled past me and then almost jammed his brakes on as he looked then recognized my car.

I didn't get a wave but more of a stare. I would have waved first but, wanted to see what would have happened. I think his was the first R I have been next to in traffic since my Sleeper treatment.

Basically though I have met quite a bunch of friendly R drivers/owners. I met most of them when I had my PY. I still retain some closer friends though, and they'd smile and wave even if I was driving an old rusted Chevette

Yeah I agree there are a group of us who are kinda snooty.

I usually ignore just about everyone else on the road. I just see 'em as part of the course like cones or something... Other cars are just anonymous when I drive, THEN, I wake up from my dream and slam on my brakes as the 18 wheeler in front of me "this evening at 4:30 with constant precipitation," almost jackknifes as it Trys to avoid some Jackass in an SUV shoot across 4 Busy lanes as he exits the thoroughfare.

Ahh well I feel better now that I vented.

A...?

Default Ok...

I hate this thread. A few days ago I posted a similar sighting, but in my neighborhood. I just wanted to know if it was anyone on this board. Low and behold, one of our great moderators blocked it before it even had a chance to be seen. My question is, why did my thread get locked, but not this one? I agree that there is a lot of nonsense that gets posted in any given forum. And I agree that it is perfectly fine for a moderator to get rid of any nonsense he/she sees fit. But again, why did my thread get locked but not this one?

I hope you're not for real.

Be careful Man, you might get bitch-slapped for a post like that. "Yes, some other people might think you a whining slobbering crybaby for bitching over a lost post. Especially one about the unfriendliness of ITR owners."

It's happened to alot of us and for more serious postings than this. I sincerely hope you aren't offended by this? If so, your skin is transparent and you need to lay off the moisterizer for ahwile.

Oh F**k there goes my Rep altogether...

Who says we aren't friendly and fawnlike?

A.

Stripped, Dewinged, Debadged, Destickered...

Keeps the average unaware, and general enthusiests quessing. Cops pay No attention.

Kinda fun though, If I want to play I can but, most of the time I lay back, watch and just think, H'mmm at the track I'd walk on that one or once in awhile I see one that is pretty, or really good but, rarely... The weekend warrior thing I never thought I'd get hooked with but, I now am.

Why?

A.

PS BTW I just came back from paying my wifes past due district 8 Motor vehicle tax in Manchester, so we can register here in NY. Stopped at Manchester Honda for a catalog, "full of junk." All in all a crappy day to be commuting through Hartford.

Ross,

Here's my lame attempt of some current PICS for you to peruse:

http://www.b18c5.com/photogallery/ph...0/DSC00002.JPG

http://www.b18c5.com/photogallery/ph...0/DSC00027.JPG

Sorry if it doesn't work or something.

Just goto: http://www.b18c5.com then look at the b18c5 galleries and then look at the 11/11 Palisade's PICS. Rodney and I shared my R that day. the deal was; he supplies the Volk's and Hoosier rubber and he both share the car.

Well, we raced, and I did better than my first event. Rodney however took the SM class and also posted one of the top 3 fastest times that day! Needless to say we had fun...

Later Ross,

A.

PS hope everything works out for you and your damaged baby.

The only thing I am wondering about is why this post did not get locked like a similar topic that was posted earlier. It's not like I asked anything differently. Maybe I just need to get to know the moderators. And I am not saying that ITR owners are unfriendly. In fact, this forum is where you get the most information. I am just trying to understand the logic that was used when it came time to lock my thread. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore. I don't want to sound like a "crybaby" on an internet message board. If it really comes down to it, I have extremely more important things to occupy my time.

Believe me, the idea of free pizza holds no charm for me.

We make the best, but it still wouldn't be my idea of where to take someone.
mmm Papa Johns Free Pie Cards...I know ALL ABOUT THAT!!!!

Anton,

pretty sweet. To the untrained eye it really does just look like an LS. I like it, and maybe if I had a black car I'd do it. Unfortunately...
