Default Corbeau Forza's... Bracket/slider information needed..

I saw the bracket/sliders sold by soloracer and sound-buys that are made by Corbeau.. Anybody have any thoughts on these? how do they sit, height wise, in comparison to brackets from other brands?

Basically, would I be better off using theirs, or fabbing my own out of some other sets of rails/sliders?

Silly me, I have sidemount brackets laying around, but went and bought bottom mount seats awhile back.. on me..

The corbeau's are bottom mounts.. as you discovered.

As far as using anything else besides corbeau mounts.. It may not be much fun. I wasn't very impressed w/the corbeau quality of the mounts, but there were no headaches in mounting them up.

Also, the corbeau sliders are pretty unique and strange, I'm sure you could mount them w/something else ie a sparco etc, but you might need to do some extra drilling or use some extra washers for clearance

To get my BC's mounted ...ack, that's another story The reason for this was because I had to mix and match parts ie Buddyclub+sparco etc. Sticking w/the same brand seems to make things much easier.

PS height wise, the corbeaus seem to sit just barley lower than the OE seat.

these are my two most primary concerns, really.. Quality and seat height.. Just below OEM would work.. I just don't want to be banging my helmet on the rollcage all the time(or never)..

Yup they should give you a bit more room than OE's, you shouldn't be baning your 'ead unless you are super tall, and hopefully the back of the seat will protect you as well.

Don't get me wrong, the corbeau seat mounts work fine.. they just look as if they were fab'd up in someones garage.

ok.. well, I guess I'll just bite the bullet and spend the $160 on the Corbeau ones..

funny to me still that the brackets cost almost as much as the seat..

owell.. some of that will be offset with selling the sidemounts..

I recently spent some cash on a Corbeau FX1, a seat mount bracket (bottom mount) and sliders. At 5'5" I'm still too high with this combination for my comfort. The helmet is (was at this point) hitting the cage.

Recently the sliders were removed and just bolted the seat mount bracket to the seat directly. The holes were drilled out just slightlyfor the bolts that connect the seat. Not real happy with the bolts supplied to mount the seat.

It also seems that if the seat mount was just a tad lower toward the back it would help quite a bit.

Having someone fabricate a seat mount, or purchasing a higher dollar seat/mount/slider combo. is becoming more appealing to me.

-dave who's already spent his yearly allowance and then-some this year, and will be using a bit more padding in order to more comfortably reach the steering wheel, gear selector and pedals.

interesting.. other side of the coin, completely, regarding height.. although that is a different seat..

hmm.. I think I'm just going to go ahead and roll the dice on the Corbeau bracket/sliders and see how it ends up..

I just bolted mine to the floor. Of course I'm 6'3". Now it sits pretty darn low. A couple weeks ago at Evolution, Pat Salerno and Mike Johnson tried to drive my car and they could barely see out. They're jockeys or something though, they're tiny!

I have the Forza's w/ the Corbeau bracket/sliders. I sit MUCH lower, i'd say a good 6-8inches lower than OEM. W/ the padding out of the seat, my head is just able to see over the dash, I am on the short side though @ 5'5".
