How much should I pay for a ITR???
I have been wanting an ITR for as long as I first saw one. (on the lot when they came out) and I have been watching them on egay for a while, and I see them go for anywhere between 12-20K depending on mods/condition etc....then I see you guys say in the area of 17K for this one...
https://honda-tech.com/zero...45831 (has a rebuilt motor, and little mods done)
this one is nicely modded on egay going for 10grand right now...1 day left.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT
I see it going to like 15-
and this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT
ended for $8101, reserve not met. i think its because this one had a rebuilt motor or something....(about the condition of the one you guys say for 17K)
but I see them go for around those numbers all the time! Are these numbers realistic? I have messenged people about the cars asking if they accecpted the ending price and usally they do. SO my conclusion, ITR's can be found for the 10-12K range....in DECENT shape. Of coarse one with little miles and has been parked in the garage for all its life goes for around 17-20K. ...
but, are these numbers real????
my plans for the ITR are a fun summer car, for the street and the track. (no street racing) some mods, but bacially just a fun rare car that hopefully wont get stolen.

What do you mean are they real? If it says $XXXX what would lead you to believe it's not true.
Set your budget and get looking. I'll be the first to tell you that you'll pay more than NADA, KBB, etc... Have a down payment ready to make up the difference b/c most likely, if financing, the loan with be for a few grand less than the purchase price.

Which numbers are you asking about? If an auction closes and it doesn't meet the reserve price, then it doesn't matter how high the bidding went - the car didn't sell. So the answer is no, the highest bid on an auction that didn't meet its reserve is not realistic. And no, the current bid on an auction that hasn't closed yet is not realistic, either. Look at actual sales as a barometer for what the car is worth.
Can an ITR be found in the $10-12K range in decent shape? Meaning, moderate mileage (say, under 60K miles), excellent condition, clean title, and no crappy/tasteless/undesirable mods? Let's put it this way - if you can find five such cars at that price, I'll buy ALL FIVE of them. (What does THAT tell you?)

What he said.
eBay is a very poor way to judge the market price of a vehicle. At the very least, you have to take into account the location of the seller because few people will bid sight unseen on a car for sale in, say, North Dakota.
For example, I was watching a 1995 R2 RX7 with 60k miles last week and its final bid was $10k. Does that mean that I can pick up 1995 R2s for this price? If you find me R2s at this price, I will buy all of them.

I understand what you are saying....but I just see to many ITR's on egay for the same average price of say $13,000-average price. especially a dealer.(unbelieveable) I have seen a few BIN prices of $13,500 and $15,000 of cars in nice condition. 65-70K miles, unmolested. So thats where I got my numbers from.
so what could I buy a decent one for?

For what it's worth to you. Do like I did. Search autotrader.com religiously for 9 months then you'll find out what they go for. Another thing, "decent shape" is objective. Personally, I wouldn't touch one for less than around 16K because I am not any type of mechanic.
Oh yeah, ignore ebay, it's worthless 99 times out of 100 due to overexposure.

Since you already seem to have the answers, it puzzles me as to why you still seem to be asking this question!?!

It will not have the original motor, or it will 80k+ miles, or it have a salvage title, or it will have been in a major accident. If want to go cheap, ITR is not the way. Buy and EG and build it. You'll never get your money out of it and it will be worth crap in a few years...ITR's hold their value.

I already stated in the above the cars for 12-15K either have around 60-70K miles or a swaped motor. this would not be a problem for me. either of these.
now this becomes a matter of opinion.

That second one you listed with the "genuine spoon wheels" was nice cause it had the OEM lip kit, but i don't think the wheels were spoons, they were shiny, not matte black like spoon wheels.
