800.4 or 300.4 for interiors?
I'm getting a new car in a day or two (chevy equinox), and since I'm taking everything out of my Teg, I was wondering if my 800 watt 4-channel Kicker amp is overkill for powering my interiors? I also have a 300 watt 4 channel Alpine amp that I might use instead; which do you guys think is better?
I am not sure what kind of speakers I am getting yet. All I know is that theyre 6.5" and I'm plannin on putting a good amount of money into them to assure they sound as clean as possible. Sorry I cant be anymore detailed than that. TIA

id's say it would only be overkill if you didn't have the speakers to handle it.800 .4watts(assuming the amp prolly produces around 125x4 rms 200x2 rms and 400x2 peak) is quite a bit for interior speakers and in my experience i never needed that much power to run coaxels or even components in most cases..i have all 6.5 infinity kappa series speakers a year ago and ran those on a 300 watt 4 ch amp..i cant even remember what kind of amp it was..but it worked fine and i only got distortion with the volume up about 46/50..just pick out some speakers you like the sound of and use wich ever amp that suits.
