I searched trough the forum and was wondering if all d-series trannies bolt onto all d-series engine? Reason why I ask is b/c my friend my buy a 91 CRX si with a dead tranny and he has a d16y7 tranny sitting at home and wondering if it will bolt right up. Thing that sucks about the d16y7 tranny is that the 5th gear is blown. Is is possible to mix and match parts from the 2 d-series trannys to get one that works?

it should bolt up but may be a hydro trans..

 

it will fit BUT, the CRX tranny is a cable tranny and the d16y7 is a hydro one. You will need to convert the car to use it.
