I'll get the Pics up soon, but like the topic says, I got a Pheonix yellow itr with 50k miles from the salvaged auction. It has been in accident and needs to be fixed. I basiclly need a hood front bumper and both fenders. Also I need a radiator, driver side headlight and the power streering resevoir with some tubing and wires due to fire damage. Got the car for $7500. I was thinking of doing a JDM front end conversion, but that might cost a little to much for me. Other then that I need advice on if parts from an itr are interchangable from GSR's or not, like the power steering resevoir and wiring. Oh yeah I don't have a key to the car and the Acura dealership was telling me that I have to have the car towed to them so they can make the correct chipped key for my car. Is there any way around this?I would really appreciate any advice.
Man just go to the dealer and he a chipped key cut for your car.......Then go to a service advisor can get the pedal sequence to program your key
what salvage auction did you go to?
Was there a good selection on project cars?
I myself have always wanted to check one of these places out but never got the chance. Good grab on the itr

Second that. I thought you had to have a dealer or other special license to buy at those auctions.
Sounds like you got a good deal. Good luck on the rebuild!
I believe most of the parts you probably need are interchangable with GSR's. They are all Integras. The shell, suspension, motor, brakes and drivetrain are the main things different on an R vs a GSR. The only isses on the power steering might be if the pump and lines are different for the R, due to possibly closer ratio steering, and thus a different pump. The resivoir will be the same tho.
Check out Acuraparts247.com. They have the exploded view and part number lists. Look up the R parts by model, write down the #'s, then look up the GSR and do the same. See if they are the same #'s. If so, good to go. Try to buy from HT, or give Len here a ring a Baranco Acura. He'll hook you up with whatever you need that you can't find used.

If you want a good deal on the front end in the Bay Area contact Downey https://honda-tech.com/zerouser...=5727 he has a shop in Mountain View and they have quite a few front end parts, as they just brought in a container from Japan. They most likely have any/all parts that you might be looking for.
Here is a link to some pics of their most recent container https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=933161

Go to http://www.rcrewracing.com in San Francisco. Ask for Dan Phan or Ken. I bought my engine swap and tranny from them. Dan is my Honda guru and can get just about anything you need, especially JDM. He may not be the cheapest but he's fair and he knows his stuff.
And when you're there ask about the shop truck with the SR swap! hehe!

Yeah it is the one from copart, what did you think of it? For everyone else thanks for the much needed and helpfull responces here are some pics of the car I took some at the auction then some at my house after I cleaned it a little. To buy from these auctions you have to know a buyer, they will charge you a certain fee to purchase a car. You can get some nice project cars from there. I preveously bought a 97 GSR with 73K miles from there search my name and you can see pics of it. I just recently sold the GSR. There seems to be no damage to my motor just damage to my left engine compartment wires and power steering resevoir.
I just had a key made for it, paid $220
for it, had a locksmith make it.
enough talk here are the pics.

I dont think it looks to bad for $7500. You should def. pull the motor and check it out and clean out that bay though.

You just chose one and if its taken you just chose another
Check the armrest of the vehicle where there should hopefully be a plaque in place unless somebody ganked it

i was checking this car out also. It's a double salvage title b/c it was stolen before. I sold a black 01 Type R to the previous owner of the burned R after his car was hated on by someone who tried to set the whole thing on fire. I've rebuilt several Type Rs and sold them (all theft recoveries). Let me know if it's too much of a project for you. I'd consider taking it on.
