best cheap cams
i realize that you said "best" and "cheap" in the same sentence there so im assuming you want some good cam gears that arent god-awfully expensive, however when it comes to a part thats very important to the proper function of your engine i wouldnt get anything too crappy, when it comes to something like your intake get dryer duct if you want....heres my suggestion as far as the cam gears go though, i got the buddy club cam gears...good quality, not too bad, i think they were like around 150ish, id say the best you can get are todas, skunk2s, JG's, any with a good name are going to be ok, look around on the classifieds you can usually find some good ones, just dont buy some crappy ones off ebay or somewhere
MajorPayne, i think he was talking cams, not cam gears...but to answer the question, i've been doing a little researching myself and have heard a lot of good things about CTR and 00-01 ITR cams (in terms of value), i would look into them more if i were you. also keep in mind that you won't get the full potential out of a cam upgrade unless you have more serious mods (ie. cam gears, tuning, etc.). you won't see much of a difference with just cams and only basic mods (i/h/e)

looks like he says cam gears pretty plainly...it did say cams in the title, but i think it was a typo...if not he needs to clear up what hes asking about

best cams for the budget user is what i think he meant
and for that... i'd say the '00+ ITR cams or CTR cams. cheap (~$300 range) and no absolute need for any other parts (springs, retainers, etc). keep your stock redline and just drop the cams in and you're set. maybe some VAFC tuning if you really have the means or yearning to do so.
