Default been out of the game for a while... now i need a lil help knowing whats what - 89 si h/b

aight, so ive been out of the honda game since about 1996 when i sold my 91 si h/b (went on to mess w/ vw's and dsm's since then). back then, lightspeed and dc were the 2 largest honda companies (lightspeed is now defunct) - jdm wasnt in most ricers dictionary and aem was just coming on the scene

yesterday i bought a white 89 si h/b w/ 76k original miles on it, bone stock.... and lord knows i can't leave it that way

as of right now i have no plans on doing a motor swap, just need some bolt on's.

im looking for an intake preferably w/ a k&n filter on it... not a k&n "type" filter. ive seen the gammit in parts stores and ebay... offering "mugen power" ones for $25 all the way up to the aem ones w/ the bi-pass valve for $300+ - which seems a tad too high

any major disadvantage to going w/ the cheaper no-name intakes, as long as the filter is a k&n and / or re-usable?

exhaust - way back when i had a remus rear section w/ 2.25" piping run from my cat back to it. sounded and looked great, however it weighed a ton and remus isnt known for performance. i HATE the way tinny riced out hondas sound... i want something thats deep, not too loud and that wont make my head ring on road trips... magnaflow? greddy? hks? apexi? give me some ideas here

suspension - i had intrax springs w/ tokico struts in them - handled great and i always did well in auto-x w/ them... now it seems on ebay you can get generic coilovers for $49. im looking for a half decent spring/shock setup or coilover setup. on my previous jetta gli i had h&r full threaded coilovers all the way around - but dont know if i wanna do them again on this car - thoughts?

strut bars - lord how they came down in prices! i remember buying my hondasport front and rear bars for $99 EACH back in 1995!!!! now you can get all 4 off ebay for around $70 shipped... i know dc still probably makes the best bars - others thoughts?

any thing else i should look out for?? this was owned by an older woman who passed away... the car is virtually rust free, was rust-proofed when she bought it new and undercoated. paint still shines great, very little wear on the front of the car - from rock chips and what not - i was expecting a LOT worse

lastly - the clutch catches pretty high... for the life of me i can't recall if i can just adjust the clutch cable in this or if its a sign the clutch is going?? help plz?

i pick the car up wed or thursday - i put a deposit on it and im just waiting on a few things to clear up before i go get it - at which time ill post pix
