hi guys. i have a 90 crx dx, and the ricer before me put on a bullet muffler that comes straight out the passenger side. i'm looking to get a magnaflow to go back across to the drivers side to quiet the system down, and go for that stock look.

on the magnaflow site they have offset-center, center-center, offset-offset mufflers. i was wondering what muffler would best match the original muffler?

Stock Si muffler is offset-offset, opposite on either end. Where the pipe comes into the muffler is closer to the rear bumper, and where it leaves the muffler is closer to the center of the car. Then it curves 90 degrees and goes out of the rear bumper.

My Dx has the offset-offset muffler I have the magnaflow xl performance muffler.... sounds good and doesnt have the **** off your neighbors noise.

it really doesnt matter which one you get, you will still have to get pipe bent for it anyway, just bring it down to your local muffler shop and they can do it for you... since you already have the muffler when/if you go they shouldn't charge you too much for the install.

No I didn't get the 3 chamber one... friend of mine locally owns his own muffler shop so he had a bunch of magnaflow stuff sitting around... so I put together a nice system for the cost of the muffler. I was curious as to if the 3 chamber is quiet also... I am not really into the fart noise... kinda makes you look like a target for a race at every intersection... i go to the track for that crap.

 

i like the sound of my magnaflow as well. i just got an exhaust put on my 4 door with a ZC in it, and when im crusing the wind noise is usually as loud or louder than the exhaust. when you stand on it, it is really deep and throaty, and sounds very nice. i just have an oval muffler, non polished, center inlet, offset outlet, with a resonator in line after the cat.
