obd1 converion plus MPFI
Ok heres the deal. I got a y7 swap in my car right now. I want to put a y8 head and evenyually go turbo. The car is still MPFI.
I am gonna purchase from locashracing.com there obd0-1 conversion harness plus the distributor harness and the sub harness already wired for vtec.
I am gonna get a z6 ecu for the time being. The y8 head will be complete with all sensors and i am gonna use a z6 distributor.
What do I need for the mpfi swap? Since its gonna be obd1, I am guessing a si injector resistor box is not gonna work. And what do I need to do the the ecu? I understand the obd1 part of the swap, but the Mpfi still confuses me.

i had the same question a couple days ago since im doing a dx-mpfi and a obd 1 the same time im putting a d16z6 in my car
i was told just do the mpfi swap like the instructions say up to the part of the wiring up to the fuel resistor box then u gotta consult a 92-95 civic fuel wiring diagram for that part
i been told the wires that normally go to the resistor box get all soldered together, since obd1 injecters are high impedance they dont need a resistor to step the voltage down they need high voltage so no need for a resistor box

the obd swap is the easy part, its just a new harness.
ba4 is right, do the mpfi swap first wiring the injectors without a resistor pack (92-95 style), then plug in your conversion harness.

I just wrote this up myself cause I just did a swap from a dx to a d16z6 so I hope it helps. I had a heck of a time finding answers on what to do when converting to obd1 at the same time as a mpfi swap. If it wasn't for honda-tech.com I would have been screwed.
