exhaust will not stop smoking.
my exhaust on myu 91 civic dx will not stop smoking..i think the oil is leaking because i go through oil fast....but i need to know where it might be leaking at.if anyone has had similar problems or know what might be causing this please let me know....thanks
what motor, mileage? in any case its probably Piston rings = motor needs a rebuild. Do a compression test on the motor. other posibilities could be valve seal, but valve seals usually only smoke when the car coasts down. If it smokes at idle an whenever you get on the gas, oil is getting by the pistons (blow by) somewhere. compressi0on test only way to know for sure. Pull your plugs see if there is oil on them (there shouldnt be)

could be the rings. Run a compression test like VTeckidd said. by the way what color smoke is it? Could also be a crack head gasket. Let us know the outcome
I was having a simillar problem with my crx, yet only in the higher RPM's, i went to Auto Zone and got some stuff called "smoke b gone", and it has takin care of the problem. Yet you may have a more serious engine problem, still I would try the Smoke stuff, it goes right into your oil, and it hasnt caused any problems.
