Default Coilovers--Apexi WS or Tein Basics?

I have been searching and reading up everything I can about which coilover to get for the past few hours. I do have some questions though. When installing these coilovers, you just use the stock mounts, correct? Because on apexi.com, the application chart says (no upper mounts).

Is there really any difference between the two, is one better than the other? I am not doing any auto-xing, just want an adjustable coilover that is comfortable, but sporty. I did not find anywhere where it stated the adjustability of the apexi's, and the teins was hard to understand, says something about Front: -1.8~-3.5, and rear-1.1~-2.7, how can everything be negative to negative; does this mean that just by putting on the coilovers that it drops you -1.8 front and -1.1 rear? Do any of you know what range of adjustability is for both? Any comments/pics are welcome!!

could trhe negative perhaps mean that the adjustability can go higher than your actual stock ride height? i would suggest trying that because there really isnt much else you can get from that.

Yes that is what that means

I have the Apexi on my '97. Its a daily driver and I really like them. Its comfortable (20-30% stiffer then stock) and yet firm enough for hard cornering. The only downside is the non-adjustable damper but I really don't miss that. Plus the Tein Basics don't adjust damper wise either. Apexi gets my official seal of approval

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I am leaning more towards the apexi's than the tein basics; from people's great reviews on them. But on the other side, I can get a set of tein basics for alot cheaper. I am still unforsure on which one to get.

How much cheaper? I see them (apexi) all the time on ebay for like $600. I don't know how reputable the seller is (I've never looked at the auctions) but I'd check that out before you pay retail.

Tein basics will have to get my vote.. But if you want to spend a little more (Apexi price) get the Tein SS.. They have adjustable damper...

I found somebody selling them for $500 shipped, brand new and never have even been out of the box. This of course is the cheapest route, but I am not sure if its the better route. I have heard that the teins can rust after so long, and that they are a pretty rough ride for a daily driver.

Ditto. I really like my Tein SS setup, but don't have any real experience with the basics.

Well, I bought the teins. I will have to get pics of before and after I install them; along with my comments on the ride and handling. I could not pass this deal up!

Does the TEIN's come with upper mounts. Im looking to upgrade too but just want something that includes the upper mount so i dont have so much hassle. I was leaning towards the WS but now since i just found out that htey dont have the uppper mounts im swaying away.
