i'm gonna get so burned, but what is the red "hook" for that comes out of some bumpers?
i've seen red hooks or rings that extend from of the engine bay and out the bumper, through a hole, on some cars. what is that thing for?
and no, i don't want one because it may be cool. just curious about it's function

It's a tow hook. For race cars, makes it easier to tow a car when it breaks down or runs off the track, easy access.
it being a tow hook is kinda dumb, i've seen them on a lot of "race cars" but that hole would just catch wind and add to wind resistance. another weird thing is why do position the ring on side that makes the towing heavier on one side and just inconvient... i dunno

It bolts up to the stock tow hook location, you put it on the left, or the right side. Either way, it'll work if it's bolted down.
