Default In memory of Hans Nothen (HondaHans)

It is with great sorrow that I have just heard of the passing of Hans Nothen. He was a regular Honda-Tech member, and a valued friend of mine. He passed last night, Friday, July 30th, 2004. And if you know him personally and his circle of friends, as I do, you are sure to realize that his death is hitting many people very hard. He had such a close circle of friends.

Hans was a great, great friend of mine. He was fun (my 4 year old daughter loved him), sincere, always in a good mood, and so great to be around. He is survived by his mother, father, and one sister that I know of.

All that I know is second hand, but it appears to have been a natural heart failure of some kind. No car accident, or anything like that. Just a natural thing. He was rushed to the hospital after collapsing and apparently passed before getting there.

I know I can't believe it. He is the last person that should have died so young. And he had been telling me only a few weeks earlier that he wasn't sure he even needed medical insurance because he's never needed it. So, we should all take from this a lesson about enjoying the life you are given. Hans did. And those of us who knew him are better because of it.

Sincerely,
Chris Shenefield

wow. this is very surprising to see when i logged on. i never spoke with him or met him in person, but i have read his threads and his screen name is very familiar. my deepest condolences to his family and close friends. reading his post about the old woman really shows what kind of person he was and how he really was a genuine guy. this is the type of person i would gladly call a friend and would help anytime bc i know i could expect teh sam from him. he will be greatly missed in the ht community.
if i overlooked this i am sorry but how old was he????
R.I.P. hondahans, may your memory live on, and others follow in the example you gave us.

oh my god.. I talked to him all the time on here and had talked about that it was a bummer we weren't going to get to meet up at the expo last week..

if someone is going to get a honda-tech contribution together, I will DEFINITELY donate..

my condolences to his family and friends.. he always seemed like a really good guy..

Chris is absolutely correct on Han's character and personality. I am in shock as I am typing this. Cannot believe someone so young (10 yrs. younger than me I think) can pass in an instant. After reading that post about how him and Will? helped that diabetic woman, it just isn't fair that people like that are taken at such an early age. Life isn't fair sometimes

Honda-tech fund should be set up, then one lump sum should be donated to the Hans fund.
