problem with door locks, acting really weird!!! ???/
hi was wondering if anyone can help me on this. I have a 98 gs-r , something weird has been happening lately... my power door locks don't work anymore??? hitting the switch does that work it...turning it manually doesn't work as well.....it seems to be working when it wants because after a little while I found hit the switch and it would work and then it would stop working again??? I checked the fuse under the dash for the power door locks and that doesn't seem to be blown??? I have an alarm installed but don't see how that can affect it??? does anyone know anything about this so I can see if I can replace whatever is broken or bring it to a shop for them to look at it or possibly the dreaded acura dealership in my area!!! thanks!!!
This has happened to me and just last week happened to a friend of mine. We both just took it to the dealer. I'd check if there are any bullitens about this first so you can go in there with some ammo.
do you guys have alarms installed on your cars?? i've had very bad experiences with the dealers as they try to blame everything on my aftermarket parts... like something electrical was wrong iwht my last car that the car would shut down by itself while driving... well they blamed it on the alarm and installation, almost stripped down the car and said maybe we should replace the whole ECU unit and wiring.....!!! anyhow....
so did they fix your problem with the door locks??? thanks!

I have had the same problem. (in just the passenger door). Take the inner door panel off to see if the linkage for the lock has come out of its hole. The lock linkage is really simple (mechanically)...good luck
I had a similar problem. Just spray some WD-40 into the latching assembly on the door. The plastic part is white and the metal latch. Dirt and gunk got built up in mine and the locks stopped working properly.
