Just wondering what the symptoms are of a timing belt skipping a tooth? Any particular characteristics I should b looking for?

Can you car still run smoothly but still feel like there is no power?

the way i test it, may not be a right way to do so. so i dunno ifs its recommended. please correct me if im wrong.

alright the car has 75k kms in it..few weeks ago the timming just got way 'advanced', it have massive more power in low rpms but i cant squeeze any more power after the 4250rpm barrier. thats when i was wondering if its the dizzy, chked, try retard the engine, hell its all the way back and the engine still way advanced (if u know how to use a timming gun light).. so i think it must be the belt, since i dont have an adjustable cam pully installed.
to make sure its the belt i put it into neutral , pull the throttle cable fast and heck, misfired, sparking sound with no fuel(ugh, right way to explain??), then i take it to the shop and do a belt chk, yup i keep skipping at higher rpms..

make sure you change a little pully thing,(forgot what it called), the 2 seals at the same time.. you dont want to pay more $$ for the next service if theyre fucked. those aint expensive anyways.

so the main symtoms might was well, no power after mid-higher rpm, misfiring cylinders when go WOT in neutral. and you can actually feel that the 8k powerband now squeezed into 4k..

 

Thanks, my car just doesnt have any low end power but pulls very well when VTEC kicks in.

sounds like a normal honda to me

Seriously, it's just too easy to take off the cover & look. If you have any reason to suspect it jumped timing, that's the way you'll know FOR CERTAIN.
