Why all motor ?
I don't know if this is a constent question or a repost. But I'm a long time domestic guy who decided to open his mind up and convert. So now I'm in the process of learning alot of new things. ONe thing I wanna know is why choose N/A over forced induction ? I know for us domestic guys it's no big deal cause either was it equals big power with already big inches. What is it that does it for you guys ?

for me, i love the way a high revving N/A four sounds screaming to 9,000RPM...
with FI, and FWD and all the BS that goes along with it, instead of it being a liner song, its like slow up to 5000rpms, then from 5-9 goes by in half a second... not fun to me.
plus you dont break as many parts with n/a imo.

costs less? i think not...especially if you go with a decent setup. but im a n/a fan myself.

for me its a mental thing, i like that satisfaction of making lots of power without the aid of forced induction, i think it is twice as impressive to have a fast all motor car than forced induction. another huge factor is the simplicity, you open the hood and you see pure engine. and of course THE SOUND. nice to see a domestic guy willing to consider a honda, most of us respect domestics as much as our own cars, so feel welcome, itd be cool to see a guy who takes his civic with his camaro buddies and take his camaro with his civic buddies.
to you.

The linear powerband of an na setup is better for road racing, no uncontrollable torque spikes while in the middle of a corner. Unless the turbo setup includes a fully rebuilt motor with high end parts, the turbo setup seems to just wear out stock honda parts 2 times faster compared to na in my opinion.

is my opinion, beat turbo cars without the turbo.

a turbo car makes more low end tq anyways....the throttle response and ability to control traction are the only 2 benifits of N/A honda's IMO. All motor is VERY impressive and one day i would love to build an all motor honda, im just having too much fun with FI cars now

Id def be turbocharging. But my lesvtec setup will be cheaper, which is what I need. Im also going NA for now because I am learning to tune, I dont have to worry about blowing an NA on a stock ecu because of a/f and timing.
Im in it for the larning aspect.

To me its all about the respect. I give a lot more respect (and hopefully get some back) to the all motor guys cuz I know how hard it is to make real, raw horsepower. I see 200whp N/A cars running next to or beaitn built 300whp turbo cars, plus everyone goes turbo.
Just my 2 cents.

i like n/a.....because i can make more money of domestic guys at the races
ppl look at my car..and ask what i have done....i play stupid and say i have a "M4d tyt3 JDM Typ3 Sw4p y0" and they just kinda laugh at me and ask if i wanna race for money. So i agree....i pop off my 11...i get my money, and i drive home laughing the whole way.
fun way to spend an afternoon

chances are im going to have an FI car here in the near future, but i love the gsr being all motor, like many people have said, its hard to make power all motor once you get to a certain point, so its fun seeing how small changes make a diff. I love the way it sounds too. In the end whether youre building a hardcore all motor or turbo car youre going to be dropping a butt load of money into it either way, just go with what you like, there are advantages to both, but building a fast all motor car and working on it for a while and tweaking it here and there and learning all you can will def help you if you later want to go turbo, and yes its fun seeing a solid NA car beat a turbo car with more hp, however if someone is serious about all out speed and ET's turbo is the way to go, you can get 400-500whp out of a built turbo honda fairly easily if you know what youre doing and if youre serious about it, all motor is cheaper to start out with, but you will see how it gets to be an endless money pit once you start, and one more word of advice, if you get a loan to build a car, get well over what you expect the whole thing to cost, youll need it
Driving *feel* - crisp throttle response and natural/ smooth/ linear powerband. I like driving through the mountains and twisties, so I just love the *feel* of a normally aspirated motor. Although, Honda's smaller displacement motors are obviously limited in terms of torque output/ horsepower output vs big cubic inch domestics, the advantage (to ME) w/ the car's overall character comes w/ the super lightweight chassis - better power:weight, so ultra high horsepower figures become less important; plus, I really don't feel that I have the ability to drive a 400+ horsepower car TO and AT its limit consistently (and safely at that). ...drag racing, however, is a different story.
