Default Need help with ball joints

Did the brakes on my mom's 94 accord today and had to remove the whole knuckle and in the proccess riped the boot covers on all 3 ball joints on each side.

Can i replace the boots myself or do the ball joints need to be pressed out. can i buy just the boots at honda? tia

You can get some "wrap around" cv boots. They are not as good as the stock ones, but the ones that I installed on a friend's car are holding up fine after 12k miles. I got them from autozone for around 8 dollars each.

the upper ball joint are one piece with the upper control arm, they are mad expensive

the lower ball joint are pressed, around 70 for both side.

dont think they sell any patch for the ball joint boot, once the boot is ripped, sand will get into the socket and start grinding it down to the point the ball joint will sperate.
Very dangerious situation here.

You can replace the balljoint boots. I've done it without the special installation tool. All that does is push the boot down straight over the stud. It's tricky to get that wound spring thing off & on around the big end of the boot, but just work at it.

As long as you know they weren't torn while you're driving around. Then there'd be dirt inside the balljoint & it's probably shot.

I replaced them on our '98 Accord. My wife's aunt's car (before we inherited it), it sat in the FLA sun & the boots looked kinda bad but they weren't broken open yet.
