I just bought a 1989 accord. It is carborated, 5spd. When I am in stop and go traffic the engine revs to 3000 rpm as soon as I get moving along again the idle drops down around 1000 rpm. The car does not over heat or anything like that. It has already been back to the garage where I bought it and they haven't been able to correct it. They told me it had something to do with the air cond. They also said that there are heat sensors in the carb and that they may not be reading the right temp. I think they tried to put a bandaide on it until I was out of the warranty they gave me. Could it be the carborator needs to be replaced? Other than this problem the car runs great.

Any suggestions or idea's would be greatly appreciated.
