removing antenna
Yeah take off the chrome piece outside the car it screws of their are two slots in it , then go in the trunk and remove the trunk trim on the rear quarter and you will see the motor and all the components , i just un hooked my wiring harness because the motor was really loud and annoying.
I hear you on the "loud and annoying" thing. I unplugged mine as well.
Delguiner... what kind of antenna did you get? Does it fit in the original spot or somewhere else. I'd love to shave mine one of these days, but until then I was thinking of getting a little "nub" of an antenna for the stock spot. If there is such a thing...

hey, i had the same problem with my antenna motor dying, i tried universal "sport" antenna's (the nub), but because the lude's rear fender has such an unusual curve to it, they dont seem to fit right, and just short out because rain drips in, so i just had mine shaved, and it's a great look! i recommend just saving some money, and having it shaved!
they make antenna tape that adheres to your windshield, any strauss hould have it. It's pretty neat, almost invisible, I looked into it when I shaved my 2ng gen hole over the driver door. I never bought, so I don't know how good it is though, but just cnsider thats how most cars are now a days anyway, like the 5th gen ludes.

i cant give you a price for shaving it, i had my whole car painted, and i just had them do that too, as far as an antenna goes, i just use cd's, i dont like the radio, VA stations are lame anyways, but you could always go XM radio, that doesnt need your antenna!
hope you got some good out of the posts.
