Default other then the Autozone rotors, what else is there???

Not that I'm afraid to use them... well maybe

I have seen so many other rotors for our cars that are not much more money then the cheap *** autozone ones. I'm starting to wonder if there is a difference from lets say raybestos rotors to the AZ rotors?

I'm not looking for a bling rotor I want something that will last as long as the stock did (50k). I drive hard but apparently not as hard as some... (cough cough Will )

Should I just come up with the money for OEMs and have them last till 100k ?
Will the autozone rotor cause my brake pedal to feel different because of the difference in thickness?

I looked at my pads- opps my backing plates and the rotors and saw that they are done.

I have seen some people use Brembos but never heard anything good or bad about them... other then people getting jipped on them.

thoughts please?

I recommend the Cobalt Friction G3000-spec Premium Grade Rotors. A great replacement for OEM for a resonable price and from a name you know you can trust.

I have been very happy with mine.

These are the same rotors that Carbotech sells, and they blow *** for track use.

I tried two sets, and they botch cracked through after 2 weekends. Smitdog cracked one in *one* weekend. I got 6 weekends out of a set of "cheap ***" vatozone rotors. They suck so bad that Carbotech is dropping them in favor of Brembo rotors.

I just picked up a set from Advance Auto... 1 yr warranty

search kn00b.

cheap + easy to get (no shipping) + 1 yr. warranty = no need to purchase anything else.

Is there a big difference? What brand are the rotors that Autozone sells?

I would go to Autozone, but its 35 min away, and Advance is 5 minutes.

Probably not...Pep Boys, AZ, Advance...sell a lot of the same stuff. However, if Advance offers the 1 yr. warranty, it's better. AZ only has a 3 month now.

A few weeks ago Autozone had free shipping on orders over $100. so I ordered 3 sets of front rotors for $144.00. (free shipping but had to pay tax). IF any one has a better deal than that, let me know.

I also tried cobalt rotors and the autozone rotors actually lasted longer and looked better, meaning less initial cracking.

Rob, get yourself a set of the AZ's with the 1-yr warranty and your set. They are practically Brembo blanks which is all you need

Import Replacement Parts has the Brembo's for ~38 for the R fronts.

you are harder on brakes than any person I have ever heard of though, RJ.. I'm still trying to figure out how you do it.. and apparently you've passed on your wisdom to Smitdog.. you seriously need some ducts or something.. lol..

Rob, I rock OEMs for now.. and my 2nd set waiting are Brembo blanks.. but with the warranty thing, it's almost worth trashing advance auto's and keep getting them replaced at that price.. I'm just as leery about them as you, but there really isn't a good reason.. no difference in pedal feel, etc.. I just don't trust the parts they sell in general..

At least we have me and Will for "worst case" test scenarios
