Default Getting started

I was curious, what is the best way to get into auto x? I wasnt sure on how to get certified or what steps i should take in order to get involved. Im not looking to get real serious. Ive never really been into drag racing because to me (please take no offense) drag isnt really driving. I just feel that racing on a course involves more driving...which i like. thanks guys

Many of your getting started questions will be answered in the FAQ.

Here's an autocross club in your area: http://www.sunridersautocross.com/. Best way to start is to go to one of their events.

thats how I started. go to a few events, start to pick up on things, ask questions, just watch and have fun. then try to get in on a "test and tune" and things will just start comming to you.....kinda hard to explain, but thats what Im doing.

cool, basically the exact same car I drive! So how long did you autocross it before you got tired of it?

I originally had plans to modify mine, but now I've seen the light and want to buy a *cheap* 240SX if I get an internship job next year (and if I get to move into a house with a garage).

If my parents don't let me buy a project car, then perhaps a set of used Koni Shocks + GCs, and a set of wheels+tires won't seem too silly (especially when 240s have the same wheel bolt pattern ).

Maybe I could do an auto->manual conversion if I can get enough $$$ for my 20k mile AT

pipe dreams, just pipe dreams...
