Honda only Driving School near Atlanta
Hey all,
Siegel Racing is offering a Honda only Driver Instruction Clinic at Talladega Gran Prix. http://www.tgprace.com
For those that have not been there, this is one of the most fun, and more importantly, safest tracks in the southeast. It is classified as a motorcycle track, which means that there are no hard barriers to hit, just hundreds of feet of grass run-off.
I met a few of you when I instructed the ITRCA day at Beaverun. What a blast. Anyway, this is not an "open-track day," it is an instructional school. We only take 5-6 drivers at a time, and only put 3 at a time "hot" on the track. This results in MORE than enough track time, most people have had enough by mid-afternoon, only the hardcore few continue running till the end, and they always feel that they got more than enough track time. The cost is $360-$400 each.
We provide a notebook with the basics of high performance driving, including driving techniques and car setup, lunch and drinks. To get an idea of a basic schedule please check out:

Many of our previous customers found that it was easier to get a weekday off of work than to get a weekend day off from the family. Thursday's have often been good. If not, we can do a Saturday event.
If anybody here is interested, please call or e-mail me directly.

thats a shitload of money for TGPR man. you could do a panoz track day at road atlanta for less then that, and your instructors there are professional race drivers. good idea, but i think you need to cut the price in half.
Proformance Driving School is offering a full-day HPDE at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA for $220 USD on August 2nd.
You need to lower your prices to be competitive.
You need to lower your prices to be competitive.
You're obviously paying a premium to only have a handful of cars on track at the time.
As has already been shown though, people are going to fixate on the price.

I instruct at TGPR a couple of times a year (at least 600 miles a year min.). I have helped set up DEs there as well as "chaired" a DE at TGPR. While your school may give great instruction yeah, the price is simply too high for what folks are use to paying there. $150 is about it. The track is small enough that you can't put a boatload of folks on there anyhow. I will agree that the place has a lot of runoff but about every other event somebody does manage to crunch the car. Great track to learn. Good luck.

To get a private instructor just to join you at a track and "right seat ride" is $750 per day. If an instructor charges less than $500 a day he can get ridiculed by the other instructors for bringing the price down.
Lots of people pay $200 for a day at Talladega, and there are 30 people there. That's 1/10th the time for 1/2 the price.
At Talladega you can only have 3 cars "hot" on the track at a time. To be able to offer a enough track time we only had 6 total. Again, everybody so far has been thrilled with what they received for the $400. We give self-addressed stamped feedback forms, and nobody has suggested lowering the price. I suppose we could consider having two totally seperate groups, and bring the price down. But at that point you would have to deal with different instructors. Let me see what we can do... maybe 12 guys, 2 days IN A ROW, $360 each. I'll get back to you...
The question is, how personalized do you want it? For the $400, people have been thrilled with what they got.
