I've seen several comments about the quietness of WS's catbacks. How quiet and when in comparison to OEM? Similar quiet at idle, idle and acceleration, highway coasting?

I know it isn't going to be that quite compared to the stock but i want it quite enough so as a daily driver i won't get many tickets. I think i am going with the world sport 2. does anyone know where i can get 1 for a good price. I am planing on buying one for $389.99
from optionimports.com. Has anyone done business with this company, are they good and od they normally have product in stock? I would appreciate it if someone could recommend a good site to me. Thanks.

tjohnson329,

i am biased to one company because they take care of me as best as they can SIX Autoworks, never heard anything bad from optionimport, $389.99 is a good price if you pick it up locally, but if your getting it shipped, I think my friends can do it for:

APEXi
World Sport Exhaust - $397.56 shipped
World Sport 2 Exhaust - $397.56 shipped

they are making a new shopping cart with more parts on the side because they are a real shop who does motor swaps, turbo, bolt on work, so on unlike most sites are jsut online business form a office, their website right now doesnt have that product, but feel free to call them, ask for Danny, he gives me the lower prices for friends or forum people, 626 642 0550

I have a WS2 on my Civic and love it. at idle it's the same as stock. at moderate accelleration it gets a little louder but with a mellow tone. At wot it get a little more loud and has a deep tone. cruising at 70-80 and my rpms around 2500-3000 it is a close to stock with a little deeper tone. I hear my motor/intake just as much if not more than my exhuast and my intake is stock with resinator removed. Very well made system IMO.

The only thing I would have to complain about is the fact that the exhaust is tucked up so nice and tight it rubs on one of the heat shields. To fix that problem I had a piece of radiator hose inbetween the two and held down by heat resistant zip ties. The zip ties can hold up to 185 deg F and the exhaust piping, on top at the hottest spot, never went over 180. That after driving the car for an hour and letting it idle while checking and also checking at 3500. We'll se how long this combinatio lasts, I might just have to use metal hose clamps.

I don't know why people don't recommend magnaflow or dynomax...yes its cheaper and its not "brand name" persay. But the fact is these are awesome mufflers and are rather quiet.

My accord at idle is a little louder at WOT its decently loud; I can hear the intake over the exhaust and at cruising 65ish its a little louder than stock I am just glad I have a radio

greddy, thermal r&d, magnaflow, dynomax among a couple others are fairly quiet.

Just be sure to get piping cat back otherwise just the muffler will make it sound like *** on a platter. I have 2.5" but 2.25" is good if you don't plan on going FI.

2 quitest name brands are RS*R Exmag, followed by the A'pexi World Sport (WS) lineup......thermal R&D is also pretty damn quiet. though the Greddy SP is relitivly quiet, its a 100% straight through system, so its quiet by use of resonators and denser sound absorption material (as opposed to chambered mufflers which drownd out sound) so it wil naturally be a bit louder
