you probably dont feel the VTEC crossover because you have the B16A cams. they suck.
get diffrent cams and see the diffrence.

If your car is tuned properly you should not feel the X-over. You might want to upgrade your cams to at least ITR/CTR cams
b20 stock block
b16 head- itr cams, itr manifold, dc header, 2.5" exhaust

Tuned with v-afc
Felt the cross over but it was smooth

my setup is a 1.9 gsr, stock head... vtec engagement is somewhat smooth, but can feel it... when the secondary runner on the manifold opens up... it pushes you back into the seat some.
I could even feel the x-o in my sohc... not as extreme...but you could tell when it came in.

My friend(smokinsax on H-T) has a b20/vtec w/ a b16 head and stock cams and you can feel the crossover and you can definitely hear it.
My CR/VTEC is still being built, fully built bottom end
My 2000 ITR head that I had on my stock bottom ended LS/VTEC I could clearly hear VTEC engaugement as well as feel it RPM's really sprinted even with the low compression stock bottom end. I'll have mysetup up as soon as the shop gets their **** together and I get my car back. Paid for it in march, its now august and the cars been at the shop for 2 months.
I'm pissed.

you running the stock air box and exhaust. the less restrictive the system, the more you are going to hear it. And everyone is right about ditching the b16 cams. Even GSR's are better than them.
hey man, what type of vehicle do you have with ur b20vtec? Is your tranny an auto? or manuel? I know you said you have a p28 stock ecu auto.... but If it is stock, I would not be driving it if I were you, I would get it chipped because you could be running so lean that when your ECU, recognize's VTEC X-over it's going to add more fuel... or at least try to. I would definately check into that, because the stock p28 fuel/ignition maps are set for a stock 1.6L D-series motor, with 180cc injectors....
Don't worry about what anyone else say's about having a b16a1 cam, I have a b16a3 intake cam(same thing as b16a1), and GSR exhaust cam.. and I can definately hear VTEC. So check on those thing's 1st.

100% CORRECT. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL THE VTEC CHANGE OVER.

well i do hear the xover not and feel.. it is the cams i got a pair of 00 si cams and it works..but i feel i lose some torque and power in mid range with the vtec head.. i swear i felt more torque on the butt dyno..
so to reference to others with b16a1 cams ditch them they sucks,, not to say the b16a2 cams are way better either.. i cant afford a upgrade yet..
