A friend of mine has one on his ITR along with a HKS super drager cat back and its in no way noisy or raspy...he got in on ebay about a year back for $65!

i got one in my car now.. i like it. noticeable gains. but i dont know how it is compared to the smsp cat... and yes its discontinued.
