cd player serial number and code
hi
i have a 2 door honda accord sedan EX v6 2001 model. recentlly my "maintenance reqd" lite showed up and my mechanic said that he needed to disassemble the cd player to check if everything was ok. after he disassembled the cd player and put it back the player wud not work unless i enter some kind of a "code"..guess its the anti theft measure. ...now i dont have the code....i called the dealer and he said that hecan tell me the code and that he will need to disassemble the whole cd player again to get the serial number through which he will give me the code...he wud charge me 25$ an hr which is ridiculous.
any ideas where i can get theserial number of cd player or the code. is it mentioned in some of the documents of the car
please advise
thanks

that maintence req. light comes on every 15k miles or so, to get you to go back to the dealer for "regularly scheduled maintence".........taking out the cd player is kinda retarded, but hey, thats just IMO.......you can pull out the cd player yourslef, you just need to know what parts of the dash need to coem off, and how to take them off.......id tell you, but ive only got a 94
would be in your cars manual, you can get your VIN and call the dealer with that for proof, and theyll give you the code. if you have your cars manual would be in the front or back couple of pages
You dont need to take apart that much to get to the headunit. Its actually very simple. If anything its a bit crampy getting under the radio to loosen screws. Your manual is very helpful in informing you of the screw locations.
well if your car is all stock then you can just call the dealer to find the code, the dealer over here tried to get $5
off of me, but i wouldn't pay so he just gave it to me anywaise
because i asked him to print out part quote's too, so i guess i got away with it's. just bring your registration along & some I.D. that should work.
