Default Stick with a d15 or go with a d16

Alright I am in a dilema guys. I need to know what you all think. I am jumping from one plan to another. I have a d15b2 in my car right now. I am debating wether to do a Mini-me or just swap in a d16 from a CRX Si. The block is there complete with everything. Only thing wrong with it is that the #4 piston Ring needs to be replaced.

What do you all think I should do? I could use any feedback. Let me know what might be best. This could determine what I am going to do with car.

And no I don't want any B-Series, as I am an anti-DOHC Person as of right now.
Plus there are many SOHC blocks here in town running 14's. I mean I know the possibilities of both blocks and the potential each have. I mean I am cutting a 17.07 all stock with the current d15. Let me know what you all think.

well since you mention that you got a d16a6 sitting around the best thing to do in my oppion is the tear the a6 down and rebuild/mild build , then add you a nice vtec. head and put it in.of course the power will not be like a b-series but in the right car like my 88 crx hf i have a mildly built d16a6 and i have out ran a b18b powered crx and civic.

Because it sounds like you want some power!

I would swap in the A6.
The bottom end is much better for making reliable power.

Since your current engine is still running it will buy you some time to do a decent build on the A6 block.
I would get the block cleaned up with a .020 bore and micropolish the crank. Throw in some aftermarket rods or LS rods and some aftermarket pistons.

Nothing SUPER built, but good for some decent boost when you're ready!

a6 will bolt up to the d15 tranny but the tranny sucks get a crx si one while your at it.....go with the a6 much better swap and since it needs a new ring just get some p29 pistons to throw in there and a exospeed cam with bolt ons that will be a pretty quick sohc.

spend about 200 bucks, do a mini me on the d15. Get an Si tranny and beat the hell out of it for a few months. While your doing that, Port and polish the A6 head, put some zc pistons in it, and toss in an exo cam, ull have a fun car for a low price tag.

I appreciate all your feedback and this is just helping me out more and more.

The d16 is going to come with the tranny, basically it's what's under your hood with out a car for it to run in. Hence why I was asking if it would be worth the time. I am just after one of my boys really with a b16 Integra.

My main goal is to end up having at least a 14 second N/A EF/ED Car.
