Default Is it safe to ride on chopped springs.

The guy I bought my 91 civic h/b off of cut the stock springs like 1-2 inches. It sits pretty low. Is this safe to roll on them like that for a while. My next door neighbor said it caused him to break somthing(cant remember what he said. Should I buy some springs and camber kit? If so where is the best place to get stuff cheap and what all do I need? I was told to lower the car I can use my stock struts and buy lowering springs and a camber kit.

Just buy some lowering springs. Chopped springs are ghetto and ride terribly. Look in the classifieds on this board for cheap parts.

The only negative effect your chopped springs might cause is a blown shock. Other than than, a really shitty ride

But, if you're going to lower your car, do it the right way. Save up for good springs/coilovers and shocks.

Not really safe, if you hit a few dips and you need to brake, it will make it harder to stop sooner.

yeah. You'll need a kit, and get an alignment after installing the springs and camber kit.

dude its perfectly safe to ride on cut-springs.......that is.......until you **** up your shocks. and just wait till you hit that monster pothole and your spring will bust a hole in yer strut tower so big it'll look like your engine bay just got done filming an **** gangbang. my buddy cut his springs once and a couple of months later he was driving down the highway when his spring busted through the strut tower and put a hole in his hood too. cut-springs are cheap.....until you gotta pay out the *** when they **** up yer car. if you want cheap springs you can get on ebay and find em for about 130.
