Volume output increases with the gas and decreases when I brake =/
I installed a pioneer head unit... kept the factory speakers
installed 2 subs with an amp
everything was fine until I realized the volume output would get louder as I pushed the gas and got softer when I pushed the brake. The actual volume level on the head unit would remain at the number I put it on...
anyone ever run into this problem?

Yes it does.... I was thinking power myself but I don't why.
I used a thin wire from head unit to the amp... so I'm thinking that may be it... but I thought the power wire was just enough to get the amp started(turned on).. I didn't know it was a continous flow of power....

Sounds like low volts from battery or problem with alternator. Get a volt meter and see what the voltage is at the back of the radio with the car turned on a the car cranked.
go through your settings. you probably have the a.s.l. turned on. it changes the volume depending on how your driving. turn it off and the volume will remain true. i assume you have a newer pioneer head.

jdmotorsports might be right. from the sound of it, I think it's a.s.l. too.
-aoib0t, who doesn't like a.s.l

Doesn't the asl change the volume number on the deck though? I have never actually turned it on, on my Pioneer.
At first I would have said its the A.S.L. However, he said his deck get brighter also. The A.S.L. does not brighten your deck, only increases the volume to compensate for engine noise as the RPMs rise. As far as the lights getting brighter, I would definitely check your voltage regulator. I had a similar problem with a customer's car a few years back. The car's voltage would rise to 19.2V when I reved the engine and back down to 14.2V at idle. You may have your A.S.L turned on and a problem with your alternator or wiring.
