Default d16y7 back from the dyno.....Need bigger injectors

Just got back from the dyno and I'm pretty happy with the results for my little old y7.

stock d16y7 @ 6psi
y8 intake manifold
intercooled greddy kit td-04h
hondata s200b
obd1 conversion
p06
340cc injectors
2.5" spoolin downpipe
85degress outside.

First run for baseline was 142whp 145tq @ 4800rpm 6psi a/f 15-1 14-1 super lean
After a little adjustment by my tuner we ended up with this
163 whp and 158tq @ 6psi. I tried to bump the boost up a couple of pounds but the tuner had my injectors running 100% duty cycle and the a/f ratios were right around 12.5 at full boost.

I think I am going to have to pick up some 440's to get my extra 2-4 psi

So to all of you thinking of boosting your y7 go for it.....

thats wierd you maxed those out. 340's should be good well into the 200 whp range

Thats what I thought. I had been running 310's on my d16z6 with no problems at 10psi. Maybe there is something wrong with these 340's.

your powerband looks really messed up, and how did you make 171 torque on your 140 WHP pull, then tune and have 160 WHP and 158 torque? would someone care to explain this

There were two runs where we tried to make it to 8psi and ended up having to back off due to a boost spike. Thats where the two really peaky lines came from. The 140whp and 170 tq came on those runs but as you can see he let off around 4200rpm.

Whats up Philip how come your online? Shouldn't you be welding something.....

Timmay I'm hoping for 180+ at 8 or 9 psi I think 2-3psi more will get me my extra 20hp pretty easily. My powerband is really smooth right now and it comes on fairly early. Makes for an easy car to drive...

STOCK mini me y7block/y8 head and only bolt ons I/H/catback and DX tranny! i just got a greddy kit not install yet but im hopping to hit about 200 whp if not i would strongly think its not worth it, $1,5k for only 30hp increase (crazy) but thats just me keep it up though

Thats pretty damn good for a stock mini me. A stock y8 only has about 100 whp A thirty whp gain just for changing blocks is pretty unbelievable......

Looks like you gave yourself a 5 hp "cookie" with that little spike at the end. But even without the blip at the end, 125 whp is pretty incredible.

Shaved decked the block or anything to bump the CR? Hondata or Uberdata? I've run a y7/y8 head for nearly 3 years now and I gotta say your numbers are higher than any *stock* minime I've ever heard of. That torque number is also pretty amazing. A good stock y7 w/ y8 head with the usual "breath mods" typically makes about 113 whp and about 100 ft/lbs of torque. Mess with the timing, fuel etc. and you might hit 118-120 whp if you're really good. Just lettin you know because I think there will probably be some doubters, in spite of your posted dyno chart.

BTW, why 3rd gear? I know DX's are tall, but 4th is normal.

@what pressure? I was able to max out my stock Civic pump on a T25 boosted Y7/A6 (8.6:1) with 6psi of boost, 450cc injectors and 38psi of fuel pressure. A GSR pump stabilized my fuel pressure.

Whoa dude! I'm not not pointing fingers! Just saying that you gotta admit, those are *great* dyno numbers. The only reason I made mention of it was to warn you that folks aren't used to seeing that kind of power out of a mini-me.

In fact, I just recognized your sig! We emailed a few times about your y8 intake manifold swap. I remember you getting some great 1/4 mile times before you ever did the mini-me. Weren't you getting into the 15's? With that in mind, I think your numbers are definitely legit. I just don't understand though. You must have gotten one of those "wednesday motors"... 130 whp is really close to b16a territory.

So, 3rd is closer to a 1:1 ratio than 4th on a DX tranny? I did my pulls in 4th...

I still gotta rib ya about the "5 hp cookie" though.
