I've got a '97 Accord SE and the driver's side power window goes down and won't come back up. This happened to me about 6months before and I needed to replace the switch. Can anyone tell me how to bypass the switch so I can get the window up, it's going to rain and my car is going to get wet!!!! no time to get a new switch before hand I need to get this window up, It's collllddd!!! Can anyone help? Has anyone else had this problem?

take the switch apart and see if you connect the wires or the make the metal connect with a screwdriver
if that doesn't work the motor is bad

Can you tell me which connections on the switch to jump, I'm not sure which ones and when I tried to do it last time I blew the fuses... I'd rather do it at the swicth because it doesn't require me to take apart the whole door... I have a 4 door so there are alot of connections on that plug...

This thread reminded me of something that happened to the power windows on my 4th gen a few weeks back....it was cold, and the window was frosted over--I rolled it down to get rid of the frost [it wasn't really frost, I mean I live in so cal, but it was enough to make it hard to see]....but after I rolled the window back up, it wouldn't go down any more.

i thought it had something to do with the cold....anyone else have this problem?

I had same problem on my 97 EX. Still have,, now its happening to passenger side. dealer gave (sold) me some grease. Said thats all it was. Need to grease tracks where windows slide. In my case not the electronics,,,, just the friction!!

I have heard of others with the same issue. try the grease man,,, a lot cheaper than switches etc.

I have the same problem with my 97 accord. I've been using a teflon but, I think a I'll switch to a petroleum jelly applied with a Q-tip. Hope it ends my drama.
