Need some help making my mind...
My parents bought me an ITR for my 16th bday and im really new to the honda scene. I have some money saved up and plan on spending some on some aftermarket mods for my ITR. I've heard that intakes is a great way to gain some power. Ive heard that J's racing and comptech make some nice intakes for the ITR. Anyone have ne first hand experiance with the ARC induction box? Any of you have any suggestions? Help me please ^^

Dont tell the kid to learn how to drive just b/c he's 16, its not like hes driving a 12 second car, its a stock integra... **** i started chirping gears when i was 13, id bet he'd own all of ya on the track.
Ive used the comptech i like it alot, you get the cold air feature with out risking water..

This is the exact attitude that will get you into trouble. At 16 you think your invincible! Go do all the autox you can, even an Evolution or similar school if at all possible. You will soon learn just how little you know about driving.
<- jety who is 33 and still has a LOT to learn himself.

Another one in the glenview area huh? I thought Chris was the only one i'd catch in the area. I used to be in that area often last year. I drove a PY JDM R. Learning how to drive is a good thing. You might wanna do some reading. You take what you learn there and buy some valuable track time. To be honest, i'd be less concerned with modding the car right now. Its an R, i used to have a decently fast one. Speed comes from a driver, the car's only going to do what you tell it to do. If you exercise any car right, you can make it fast. You're young and 16, start now and you'd get ahead of the game. J's is a nice intake. DOn't be like me sounding alarms just going on a ciggy run. LoL Welcome to Honda-tech.

Not to be a ***** but be very careful of what you say. Just because someone has been driving stick for awhile does not mean anything. I have been a stick driver for over 2yrs. I will admit I still have things to work on. But for you to say he could own us all at the track, you are plain wrong. There are a few great drivers on this board who would own most of us in Stock Civic's (non SI models) at the track. Don't tell me you can drive without going to a road course or autox. If you could drive as well as you say, you would be making a millions a year professionally racing. Obviously you aren't a millionaire so don't make stupid comments.
Good Luck with the R! Enjoy it and take care of it!

Maybe this sounds stupid to all of us, because alot of us track our cars, but maybe the kid doesn't want to turn his car into a track *****?
There are PLENTY of ITR owners that don't auto-x/HPDE their car, do what you want with it.
I would recommend the Comptech, it has been very good to my GSR.
Be safe, drive smart, and good luck with the car, you'll love it.

I must agree. Track time is the only way you're going to get a chance to see the limits of the car and how to control the car when it has indeed hit the limits. I don't think being a good driver is like parallel parking, do it enough and you got it. But im familiar with that area and there's a lot of hot shot kids that have a lot of **** to prove. I dont' believe jon is one of them but i hope he doesn't get involved with them. Not ever kid is fortunate enough to get an R when he's 16, but he's doing what he should be doing by getting himself established and learning what he needs to learn to be a good driver. That i must say is a hard trait to come by.

is this guy for real? he just named like 15,000 dollars worth of mods to a kid who asked about a intake....
he never said he wanted to race it.. all he asked baout was an intake, but i guess for daily driving you need to know the limits of the mighty type r right, b/c he might lose his *** end making a left onto main street.

Bolts on's won't make you faster if you can't drive.
Shifting is not being able to drive.
Just be glad your parents bought you a car and use the money to pay them back some.
