It is 30-40miles from new olreans. We can do drag strip on night, and road course the other.

I'm there if the date allows, got family in Bama to visit before or after, but this announcement of theirs scares be just a bit:
"Just a reminder - All racers must wear shirts, closed toe shoes, and long pants. Muscle shirts and tank tops are not allowed."

Ken isn't joking but New Orleans or Texas isn't much better.
The one thing that gets me is the people who are always looking for the Expo to come to them. I've done 2 Expo's now and the closest any track got to me was Summit Point in WV which is only 9 hours from me. My favorite is the dozens of Texas guys who won't leave theiur state to come to an expo but want one there. Not sure I'd bank on them driving inside their own state to attend.
Evereyone keep in mind what is best for the whole group when planning. What is best is where and how we can bring the Expo to the most Type-R owners. This should also include a well organized and suppported event from the staff and sponsors.

I say no vote this year.. just say where it is and if you go... you go... thats final

I think track location comes down to which is more important: having the event in a similar location where you KNOW people will sign up(sucks for non local people getting the shaft each year), or having the event on the total opposite end of the country giving others a chance to make the event happen (risk not having enough participation).
Someone should LITERALLY sit down, take a map, and put dots where everyone lives that WENT/PAID for expo this year or last year. Find the central point of that and look for tracks in the area. That way you KNOW those people will attend again and it wont be so much of a problem getting people to sign up. Sure itll be the same people signing up, but atleast you will have an event. Unfortunately Im too lazy to do this

There have been other, much more important, issues that have kept me from the Expo the past couple of years. Driving across the country has had nothing to do with it.
I still think Texas would be a great location, but will try again to attend next year wherever it is held..

I was watching superbike racing at mid ohio tonight on TV. Assuming its the same track layout, driving that in a car would be insane. Seems like a pretty technical course though, too technical for n00bs?
